ISDVMA actively promotes the well-being, welfare, and safety of sled dogs
Our goal: To provide and encourage education of veterinarians, mushers, and handlers in all aspects of sled dog welfare and the supportive treatment of sled dogs
ISDVMA is a non-profit organization 501(c)(3) with the mission of enhancing the well-being, welfare and safety of sled dogs through education, research, and the collaborative relationship with mushers, veterinary professionals and race organizers.
The ISDVMA offers an annual student research project, the Doc Lombard Research Award, to help promote the well-being of sled dogs. Priority is given to veterinary students. This award is granted every November. Click HERE for more information!
