Balto

Balto, (1919 – March 14, 1933) was a Siberian Husky and the lead sled dog of Gunnard Kassen and his dog sled team in the 1925 serum run
to Nome.

Togo

Togo (1913 – December 5, 1929), was a Siberian Husky and the lead sled dog of Leonhard Seppala and his dog sled team in the 1925 serum run to Nome across central and northern Alaska. He ran over 250 miles of the most hazardous part of the serum run to Nome, while Balto, along with other sled dogs, ran an average of around 30 miles. Togo’s stuffed and mounted body is displayed at the Iditarod Trail Headquarters Museum in Wasilla, Alaska.
